time

every year, same thing, one day i just know that the smoothies are over and it is time for warm oatmeal. thats it, no hesitation, no going back. door closed. persephone is making her way back to hades.

i looked at the little crop of popping corn yesterday and brought it all in. 

i set up a processing station on my grandmothers china cabinet with the intention that any passer by could stop for a minute or two and set free a few kernels - prairie has stopped for longer and i don't think it will be long until we have a jarful. its quite engaging work.
