you know its autumn when the horse chestnuts begin to fall. we all get such simple pleasure in finding them on the ground and all the better if you have to give them a helping hand to leave their pod. we pile them all up and keenly wait to see which one will be the big daddy-o of the season!
It's such a fantastic way of spending time with one's family to go chestnut hunting. We love it so much in my family as well. It's like finding treasures over and over, and I remember how happy our children got when they found a shiny one among the leaves. :))

ulla - they are so lovely and true treasure - we are lucky enough to have a big tree in our back yard so we don't have to go far for fun!
