our small country has been rocked, literally. the footage looks like a war zone - its hard to believe its not a tv show we can just turn off and walk away from. we live in the north island and the quake hit christchurch in the south island so we are so very fortunate to be sitting here affected only by the the sadness we see on screen.
amongst this we have another birthday on the horizon - prairie is ending another seven year cycle and turning 14. my baby. my grown up girl. she wants a class party. all 35 of them. i guess after tommy's big one we can cope with a younger demographic. so, while she did her homework the other night i started to have a play and then couldn't stop because i was having so much fun. they are being handed out this morning.
the light was fading but i had to shot them last night as i knew they would be whipped away in the a m.
I love the invitations!! So special! Happy 14th to Prairie! Meg will turn 14 in April. Where did the time go? I'm so glad your family is ok - I've been thinking of you and your poor country. Sending prayers!!

What a wonderful Mamma you are. I hope she has a wonderful party.
So sorry to hear of the horrible quake. Being from the San Francisco area, I was at the heart of the last big one there and I know first-hand how devastating earthquakes can be. I was meant to be on the bridge that collapsed but unexpectedly had to work late that night.
Eventually life rebuilds itself, even for those who lose loved ones, though for them it will take longer because hearts are harder to mend than buildings.
