in preparation for tommy's 18th birthday (where did this time go? - i know it sounds so cliched but its so so true) i did a spot of tidying. although we set the yard up i knew those young ones would drift inside - and they did - the tennis was on after all.
my creative area seeing some light - if its lucky it might see some action soon (after all the pumpkins are harvested of course!)
the pincushions
and the yard - sticks for the fire
and the circle of trust - we had 10 hay bales delivered - this was very exciting for the city folk! and for once i was so happy to be a hoarder - i had enough old rugs and throws to cover everything
we hung the flags i bought in seattle in a little mexican store
and they made the coolest shadows
it was a great night - we cranked up the pizza oven and by my calculations by the amount of dough i made i rolled out 21 pizzas - they were well received and literally inhaled - the most popular being the garlic - a mixture of garlic, parsley, olive oil and salt. no photos as i was literally covered in a dusting of flour for a few hours. after the pizzas we baked some potatoes and after that i tried cupcakes - and they worked and were also gone in a flash.
and no photos of the morning after - lets just say the recycle bins were full to overflowing and we were a slow moving but happy crew!
I totally understand what you say about time flying off! We celebrated Anne-Sophie's 19th birthday the other day... ;)
I bet that you threw the best party for your Tommy. It looks so cozy with the circle around the fire, and with homemade pizza (21!!) it must have been a blast. It's amazing to have such a bunch of young people around. I always keep remebering when they were little ones, who just began school...
Have a lovely weekend - I think you deserve it. :))
