down here in aotearoa its summer. we have just had our sumer solstice yet we sing about a white christmas and a guy called frosty. topsy turvy. upside down.
we, well michael, is building a pizza oven so we can cook outside for the summer. photos to come when its looking less like a building site and more jamie oliver!
with all this business going on in the garden i felt it was time the guineas had a make over on their hutch so armed with a staple gun, scissors and a fresh supply of oil cloth i got cracking - very happy boys!
i wanted michael to whip up a little shelter so we could hide things like the mower. well its turned into the 'manshed'. he has never been that sort of guy but looks like its always been lurking! i thought i would make some bunting to match the hutch - a manly touch!
that bad ass pumpkin is taking over - he'll soon have company in his pad at the rate it is growing. its the amish pie pumpkin and is like having a wayward child. a couple of days ago i found it had gone down the side of the garage then had climbed up the neighbours palm tree! these are neighbours who like a no maintenance affair with their outdoors! i had to have stern words, yank it down and redirect the beast.
close up of the manly bunting
and of the beautiful, naughty tendrils. love that curl - so much life just waiting to burst forth.
a peek thorough the tomatillos to the play house. i am so excited to be growing these again.
prairie is in countdown mode now - its christmas eve here tomorrow. i wish you a very joyful holiday season!!! love to you from the garden and the bees and the freshly made over boys! xxx
wow, it's surprising to me how refreshing it was to see all that green! oh how i love me some pumpkin curlicues!!
happy holidays to you and yours friend!!
