easter time always makes me think of that time when i first discovered this amazing, fabulous, ever giving, ever inspiring crafting community thanks to a friend who badgered me to look at her sisters blog! i took one look and i was hooked, literally ('ghans to prove it!). it was a while until i felt brave enough to get my own but nearly four years later, boy am i glad i did!
good friday began here with hot cross buns made using nigella's recipe from her book feast - i have done this every year since i got the book - this is batch number five and the first batch i made was one of the first photos i posted on flickr - a nervous newbie.
this year i made eight buns from the recipe instead of the recommended 16 and would continue to do that.
they were light and fruity and well worth the fluffing around
while the buns were proving prairie and i made some beeswax candles. it seemed fitting somehow and the smell was divine. in the jar is the bun glaze.
after all eating the buns we cut branches off the old pepper tree (love those curly bits) and decorated the sideboard in the lounge
whatever you are doing and wherever you are over this time i hope it is restful and peaceful! xxx
