we decided this year for prairie's party we wouldn't have an activity. i don't want the girls to arrive and think 'oh not again, not more crafting' - then again being the creatures of habit that children are they are probably expecting it! - i know that they are already asking p about her party this year. we have all the girls - they have (mostly) gone through school together from kindergarten and are like a big family. there are 21 on the guest list including the birthday girl!!
we are going to have an outdoor movie with lots of throws, beanbags and hay bales. the brazier will be lit for those who fancy toasting a marshmallow and if they are lucky tommy might pick up the guitar though at this stage i think he is planning to get as far away as possible!
i am making every guest a small tote out of furnishing fabric samples a dear friend gave me (x) and we will pop in some homemade caramels and maybe a little something else.
so, i have cut 22 bags - thats 44 milk carton corners and thanks to the fabulous poochi bag tutorial, they were a breeze! thank you monica!
prairie helped me with the serging/overlocking and they have come together faster than i thought.
Louise, you are simply amazing! It's so touching the way you make the best possible day for your daughter. I bet that every single girl is looking so much forward to Prairie's birthday party.
I still remember the time where you made dolls for everyone to decorate and dress. Only a mother with a BIG, warm and caring heart does that. :))
I'm certain that this outdoor movie party will be wonderful too. It sounds SO cozy. :))
Have a lovely day...or is it night where you are? ;))
