in our quiet, little, fairly conservative hood things have been happening. along the grass verges people have been planting pumpkins.
it started with one
some have borders
and one is in an old recycling box - they have even tucked some impatiens in too!
and of course we had to get in on the act being the suburban rebels that we are. we are yet to catch someone out watering (we are further up the road a bit) so don't know the story yet but felt it was good enough to jump in on. there are 10 now counting our baby and some are starting to get really big - day of the pumpkins! this is the most exciting thing to happen in all the time we have lived in this sleepy hollow!
on another subject completely - we were driving home yesterday - me at the wheel when i spied treasure on the side of the road. goodness i yelled (i lie but i wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea about me!) the rest of my poor family thought i had hit something and were disturbed to say the least. i u turned and retrieved my haul. oh the groans when they saw what i had found.
most of it is acrylic and probably of little or no use but some is wool and some is cotton. any ideas?!!
oh my goodness - you live in a magical neighborhood!
pumpkins growing on the berm and piles of yarn left out of the curb?!?!
i tell you, if it wasn't for the fact that you have no squirrels i'd suspect new zealand was actually heaven.

Here no one would touch the yarn unless it had a notice telling you it was free!

I think some graffiti knitting or guerilla knitting to go along with those subversive pumpkins would be fun.
