or at least the pile of washing (clean)!! i finished a couple of days ago but have been unable to take photos because of the weather - anyone would think it was winter here. i woke this morning to pretty sunlight. 'bring me my camera' i demanded.
first shot (be prepared - i am showing this baby off in every way possible!)
100 squares
the plains
the border - i bordered. thank you for all your comments - it was unanimous. and sorry kay - its staying right here!
close up. a sweet easy little pattern. i wanted something decorative but not too fussy.
and the label. i love this doing this part.
just one more! and again i want to thank chris for her beautiful pattern
and now to that washing that is out of your sight! happy weekend x
absolutely gorgeous,I would like to hibernate all winter under it

Wauw!! It looks fabulous - and you are so fast. It feels like yesterday, when you asked whether to make a border or not (it turned out great by the way).
You must feel so satisfied by looking at this fantastic and huge job you made...So well made!

Any way you would share the type of yarn? (content) And perhaps your color pattern scheme? Very Very Pretty!

How did you join the squares so no other colors show?
Posted by: Jana | August 27, 2012 at 09:02 AM
melodie - the yarn was an 8 ply/double knit and i used a 4mm hook. the colours just came together - there was no plan or scheme but i did want a limited palette.
jana - i sewed the squares together using the taupe coloured yarn and what i would call a lacing stitch. you are sewing the edges together so the afghan is flat on the back and front - no ridge. so you are effectively lacing the two edges together. i hope this helps and makes sense!
