well, warning all you self confessed magazine magpies! remember my impressive pile? i heard this huge crash this morning and very gingerly made my way through the house cursing my poor innocent cats. this is what greeted me in the hall!
it even took out tommy's science project. oh dear me, do i really have to begin the mammoth task of the sort out or make two smaller piles? i had been adding to the pile so it was standing taller than me!
is it natures way? just like on the weekend when there was a fast and furious downfall and it flooded our garage. we have been working on the big sort out in there too but hadn't quite finished. i feel like m. nature gave us a nudge there too as we swept out the water and sorted through more boxes!
the crash also nudged me into a post. oh i have been meaning to but i have been working for the past month on another window for salavge and want it to be a surprise and it has been driving me nuts that i can't share but come sunday when i install the window, i can! needless to say i am more than a little excited about this!
as i have been working on the things for the window i have discovered the most wonderful thing and can't believe its taken me this long - talking books. i downloaded a redbird christmas (the ever wonderful fanny flagg) to my i pod to take on the plane when i went to seattle earlier in the year but for some reason when michael was loading some photos on, the book went awol. just as well. i listened to the last two discs this morning and sobbed my way through my work. oh it was so wonderful but so so sad. very happy to be in the comfort of my own home and not snorting and sniffing on the plane. but, the talking book is a wonderful work companion and i look forward to the next. the thunderbolt kid is in the wings.
so, speaking of windows i can share these boys now that they are in a window. they have gone to
pauanesia, the coolest new zealand store, ever! they are made from a repurposed scout blanket. i picked off all the badges and each of the 12 kiwis got two each plus wings and a base made from a nz tea towel.
and one last thing. the other day at our local craft store i found these and just had to have this one. a little gift to myself. oh, i shouldn't have!
