prairie and i have been crafting up a storm of late. must be the onset of winter and nights in front of the fire. this bag, i made for tommy's choir teacher as a thank you for the amazing work she has done with the children. they were in a competition last week and there wasn't a dry eye, in our row anyway. i made the hessian/burlap bag and added the vine and leaves. the gorgeous little roses are courtesy of mimi's tutorial - thank you mimi - and kirsten, you are right, they are totally addictive to make. in no time at all you have a pile of them!
and prairie's contribution to the show and tell is a brooch she made for a friends birthday. she came and asked me if she could use the blanket and felt to make it and the next time i looked she was onto the 2nd letter. i put the ricrac on the next morning because it was a school night and it was getting on when she had the brainwave to make the gift. her friend was very happy with her handmade present!
The bag looks beautiful with the little rosebuds on it. So pretty! I love your daughter's brooch that she made too, it is pretty.

Oh, the bag is gorgeous. I want one too - did you just use ordinary hessian (the stuff you rag rug with?)
Prairie's brooch is lovely too. Nice colours and lovely stitching.

What a clever girl Prairie is, such a lovely thoughtful gift - I just wonder where she gets her talent/thoughtfulness from? Hmmmmmm.
You did a beautiful job on the bag - so pretty.
