mabel and henny. they are my prototypes for the softies book and i when i saw that myra had posted photos of her darling roos i decided to let you have a sneak peak. i've been busting to show someone! i was very happy to see that she was going to be in the book as well. now all that is left to do is either send these two or make another two.
i started a blanket for tommy yesterday. i made this one last year for prairie so wanted to make him one for this coming winter and these little squares are so easy and convienient. especially when there is so much great tv on at the mooment. it seems that everything has started at once and i am taping stuff all over the place. i even have tommy on the job to make sure i don't slip up and miss something. oh its a sad state of affairs but i am not going to miss dr mc dreamy for anything! anyway confessions aside (and i never did do the 6 weird things about me. there aren't any!) how do i put these little suckers together? do i sew them or can i crochet them together? any suggestions greatly recieved!
and a quick pic to show that i did actually get my wand out and make jam. i photocopied some cath kidson fabric out of her book and used it for the labels. opoutere, where we got the plums, is a beautiful little place north of whangamata where we stayed a couple of weekends ago.
have a great weekend!
So CUTE!! I love your softies! Your crochet is beautiful - I think you can sew OR crochet them together (but, really, what do I know since I don't crochet!). Yummy jam!!

Mabel and Henny are gorgeous - so proud that you're going to be in a book. Love Tommy's blanket too. I thought I might try the wavy blanket that yarnstorm did but I'll need Amber to decipher the pattern if she's willing.

Oh my gosh, they are wonderful! A house?! I love it! And your monkey is adorable! Now I'm even more excited.

Wow - Mabel and Henry are gorgeous! Love the fabrics and their expressions are just perfect - they both look so in need of cuddles! Well done for making jam - I vow to do it every year when our plum tree drops it's load of plums on the lawn but most years they end up in the compost bin - great idea for pretty labels, may just inspire me to get my act together this year!

I crocheted mine together but I don't know if that is what you are "supposed" to do. I just chose the easiest option. Your two little guys are very cute. How do you get chosen to be in a book. That sounds very exciting.

Ooh, I love the monkey. He's soooo cute. I'd vote for making another set. You never know what will happen with the first lot at the publishers. This way you'll still have a set in case something goes amiss. By the way, I went to that button store in London that you recommended. All I can say is Wow! I'll post pics within in the next few days of the goodies. Thanks for the tip!

Darling softies.. I adore the little house. The blanket colors are great too.. I don't crochet but my grandma made one of those and she crocheted the squares together.
Enjoy your nice weather. It is icky in California right now!
