anyone would think it was summer in the southern hemisphere looking at these sunflowers. they self seeded and have been a really strong crop. i look at them to remind me of just which season we are in! it has been basically wet and cold with the odd warm day thrown in to tease us.
this is what we have been working on over the christmas/new year break. when i say we i really mean michael. he has been finishing the plastering inside and out. we started it a couple of years ago as a playhouse for prairie but really i think it is a tiny version of what we would really like to build for ourselves. it has a little mezzanine floor and i would love to use it for a little studio but a) prairie won't hear of it and b) it is a wee bit small. adults have to duck as they come in under the mezzanine. we have whitewashed the inside and the outside is going to be limewashed in pale dirty pink with pale green doors and shutters. i found a lovely old sewing machine table on the side of the road a while ago (no machine) but it is really unusual because the wooden top is all rounded. i am going to paint that and put it in there. and i can't wait to sew little curtains! yes, who is it really for?!!!!
This is just so lovely! I've been dreaming of building a wee house in our yard for my daughter sort of like this and have spent hours perusing photos and books on the topic. Yours is so beautiful!

I heard you were having rotten weather over there. The playhouse looks like a little girl's dream come true especially with the vegie garden and sun flowers in front
