i love the new year. a time to look back, look forward, to contemplate. resolutions? some. one of them being to post a photo a day on flickr. i always think about it too late but not this year!
on my new year needles - a scarf. linen stitch. i am using my stash of koigu yarn - my favourite yarn in the whole wide world. linen stitch produces an almost woven fabric. i love it. its an easy enough stitch but i do find at times that if my mind has drifted off, i have swapped to the purl in the middle of a knit row or vice versa. thankfully, my rows are small enough that its no problem to unpick! here is the version of the pattern i found to be the best
cast on an uneven number of stitches.
knit row: knit one, *yarn forward, slip one purlwise, yarn back, knit one* repeat till end of row ending ona knit stitch
purl row: knit one, purl one, *yarn back, slip one purlwise, yarn forward, purl one* repeat until last stitch, knit one
