yesterday was a day of those little critters.
the cat brings a live one in, drops it and consquently loses it. t and i find it and manage to pen it in with cardboard while i construct a two toilet paper tube closed off at one end. i have locked out offending feline who is literally crying at the door. take mouse in tube outside but he won't come out. scared? no. stuck to brown paper tape at end of tube? yes. we (well tommy) had to peel off the teeniest feet and a little patch of tail off with a little twig. he couldn't believe i hadn't thought that one forward - in my defence your honor - it was a pressure situatuion and, just quietly, a very brave thing for me to be helping at all!
i am happy to say that said mousie made his way off in the meadow with not too much sticking to his paws and tail!
how cute is he? only about an inch and a half long. we did briefly think about domesticating him. briefly.
and on my work table were more but in the felt variety - finishing details for a present going to a sweet girl. papa needing dressing so he got bark cloth pants and a garter stitch cardy.
and a man tote for carrying the groceries
