having tried a wet mix (too gloopy for me) i looked around for a dry blend and thanks to molly i am hooked.
i grate a bar of dr bronners - lavender.
then mix in a cup of borax and a cup of washing soda. the only one i can find is akin to small rocks so i give it a blast in the processor - mix everything together.
jar it. every time i open the jar the lavender sings out its heady song - it never misses a note, right to the last spoonful. amazing. it washes well and the clothes are ever so slightly perfumed when they come out of the machine.
its monday morning here - the perfect day to start counting how long it actually lasts for - i think about two weeks. this is not an exercise in economy though. dr bronners soap is $9 - $10 a bar here and i can't find another castile soap - nor would i want to - i don't think anything else would cut it fragrance wise. the borax i buy in bulk online and the washing soda is off the supermarket shelf.
its a beautiful day here so will get a load on so i can peg it out!
