happy halloween!

its a funny thing celebrating this very pagan holiday down here where we should by rights be dancing around the maypole. growing up it was something the children in america did and thanks to charlie brown and the great pumpkin, we were educated. it has permeated our culture now so we try and match it somehow. i am not complaining as i love a little holiday decorating. have a spooky night!

fairy ring

on the weekend i fancied doing something that didn't involve needle and thread (had i lost my mind?!!) tommy had to do some painting for school so i joined him and worked on these for the christmas window. most satisfying to see them all lined up.

wee but in a big way

in between the teeny world of club little house i snuck in a wee wonderfuls doll. sometimes it is nice just to sit back and let someone else do the driving. she was a delight to make and is a really nice doll of substance. her cardigan is made from this pattern for the kitty, bunny or bear. i didn't knit around the neck, just crocheted one row of dc. then i crocheted an edge around the sleeves and the bottom of the cardigan. our horse chestnut tree has just flowered so thats what the pink blooms are. they are on the tree for such a short time so it was nice to have them in the shoot!

now naughty miss its time to stop standing on the furniture but i know you wanted to show off the rest of your dress!

we have a long weekend here in the antipodes which is traditionally wet and its shaping up that way. that means a certain someone can get the 11 remaining beds finished! have a lovely weekend x

oh sew little

i'm joining in a round of club little house, over here - something i have wanted to do since the start of my blogging days. i just had to share this little (literally) peek into what i am doing. i bet michael never would have thought in his life he would be cutting and constructing 12 teeny beds - he is a patient man but i am getting ahead so i will be cracking the whip!

and just to give you an idea on the actual size.......man, the pillows really were fiddly!

sweet things

because the things i am working on are still under wraps and i can't share just yet i thought i'd show you a couple of goings on around the homestead.

we had some old friends here from london the other night. we were tidying up in readiness and i sent prairie away with a basket of chalk to store. i came out later to find this little gem at the bottom of the stairs!

quite some time ago a friend of mine presented prairie with a special gift. she had found it thrifting and knew when she saw the name, who it was meant for. 

this afternoon we finally had the right cookie dough for the mould! thank you ilona xxx

still here

where oh where has this year gone?!! i can't believe we are into rocktober already. the burlap babushkas were a raging success and after that it was straight into making some christmas items that will appear in a magazine here, on a page with christmas goodies and where to get 'em. so, all i can show are the shoes of the dolly who will debut.

at the moment i am working on a handmade section for this magazine for the january issue. its funny thinking past christmas and into our summer - and that too is all i can say on that!

after that its back to salvage for the christmas window which i am really excited about - and of course, christmas in general which brings me back to the beginning of this post ' where oh where........?!!!
